About Us

The East Finland Film Commission functions as a single point of contact for local, national and international productions. We promote East Finland as a production location and offer our flexible services and practical know-how to advance the artistic aspirations of the filmmaker. Based on a Service Window principle we tend to the needs of the production throughout the entire production process.

In our efforts to support film production and to strengthen East Finland's position as a viable production location, the East Finland Film Commission continually develops a film friendly cooperative network in the Joensuu area, North Karelia and the East Finland region. In addition to organizing and coordinating this network, we educate our local and regional contacts to the economic and logistical advantage of the production. The EFFC is a member of the film industry organization and network - AFCI (Association of Film Commissioners International, www.afci.org.)

Our offices are located next to the Cadimef Studios in Joensuu Science Park. We are funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Regional Coucil of North Karelia and North Karelia University of Applied Sciences.
